After breakfast, meet your English-speaking driver at your hotel or riad to begin the 3-day desert journey from Marrakech to Merzouga. Cross the High Atlas Mountains, passing through traditional Berber villages. Upon reaching the Tizi Ntichka pass, descend to the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a historical village known for its cinematic fame in movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue the drive to Ouarzazate and explore the Skoura Oasis. Visit the Kasbah of Amridil, a fascinating example of Moroccan fortress architecture. Afterward, pass through Klaa Mgouna, famous for its Damascus roses, before ending the day in the Dades Valley. Settle in at your guesthouse or hotel for a relaxing evening.
Following breakfast, the adventure continues along the road of 1001 Kasbahs toward the Berber village of Tinghir. Upon arrival, take a one-hour walk through the stunning riverside oasis, which leads to the Todra canyons. After lunch, journey through Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalt and the birthplace of Morocco’s ruling dynasty.
As the scenery shifts, head to Merzouga and meet your camel caravan for a trek across the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Experience a magical sunset before reaching the desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, with entertainment from nomadic drummers around the campfire. Stay the night in your private tent.
Wake up early to witness a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, start the drive back to Ouarzazate. Stop for lunch and rest before continuing toward Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
